Maëlle Fonteneau
Vice President, People and Engagement
Maëlle Fonteneau currently serves as Turnaround’s Vice President, People and Engagement, where she is responsible for developing and implementing human capital policies and practices with the goal of creating a high performing and inclusive work place. Maëlle joined the organization in 2012 as Chief of Staff, where she served as a strategic adviser to Turnaround’s President and CEO and partnered with the leadership team on organizational priorities.
Maëlle has spent the last 10 years in the nonprofit sector. Prior to joining Turnaround, she served as an Education Pioneers Fellow at Teach For America, where she led research projects for the Alumni Affairs team. Previously, Maëlle worked in the areas of early childhood education and economic development at Los Angeles Universal Preschool and ACCION USA respectively, with a focus on immigrant communities. Additionally, she spent several years in consulting where she designed and managed capacity-building projects for nonprofits and grantmakers in education, health and social services.
Maëlle received an M.P.A. from New York University’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service and a B.A. in Political Science from Davidson College.
