Becky Myers
Curriculum Design Specialist
Becky joined Turnaround for Children in 2017 as a Curriculum Design Specialist. In this role, she writes curriculum content and helps develop tools for Turnaround’s school partners.
Prior to joining Turnaround, Becky served as a special education teacher and academic specialist in high-needs New York City schools. In these roles, Becky developed and implemented new curricula; managed and provided special education services; and led grade team and schoolwide initiatives aimed at providing educational equity for all students. Previously, Becky designed a character education curriculum while part of Character Lab’s Teacher Design Team. She has also worked in academic research at Brown University’s Sleep and Development Lab.
Becky holds an M.S. Ed. from Lehman College in childhood education and special education, and a B.A. from Brown University in psychology.
Who do you admire most in your life?
My parents. They have shown me how varied your accomplishments can be, how to take setbacks in stride and to act with care and integrity in your interactions with others.
What is the greatest invention of all time?
Coffee. It helps get me through each day as a new mom!
