Emily Siu
Leadership and Special Projects Coordinator
Emily joined Turnaround for Children in 2017 as the Leadership and Special Projects Coordinator. In this role, Emily works closely with the Chief Executive Officer, Chief External Affairs Officer and Chief Operations Officer to maximize their effectiveness through strategic management of their calendars.
Prior to joining Turnaround, Emily was the Café Manager for Aramark at Fidelity Investments’ headquarters in Boston, where she managed the day-to-day operations of its employee cafeteria and coffee bar. Emily also served as a Concessions Manager with Aramark at Fenway Park for two baseball seasons.
Emily holds a B.S. with honors in hospitality administration from Boston University. She also earned the highest Girl Scout achievement, the Gold Award.
Who do you admire most in your life? Who is your hero?
One of the most admirable people I have come across was my Girl Scout leader. She managed to juggle a family and full-time job while serving as the head of six scouting levels involving at least 50 girls – well after her own daughters had completed the program.
What motivates you?
The desire for everyone to have a fighting chance in life. I am aware that I had a fortunate upbringing, but also know that so many are not as fortunate. Often difficult circumstances are out of the control of those they affect. My hope is to make even the smallest difference in one person’s life.
